By reducing the cost basis for new integration projects, Optimate has enabled clients to consume more data through integration, delivering useful information to decision makers, faster and efficiently. “Our ability to deliver cost-effective, high-value solutions, begins with our technology. Combined with our industry experience, and our client-focused, task-driven approach to projects, we’re able to meet, and most often exceed client expectations,” asserts Tony Watkins, Managing Director, Optimate Solutions.
While Big Data and Advanced Data Analytics still advance as trends, generating value to the business through these concepts requires significant awareness of the source data, and the relationships between data sets. Optimate has focused on providing solutions to these challenges for many years, long before the trends emerged. By enabling organizations to effectively manage data models across multiple domains, and the corresponding data and relationships, they help ensure the value of data is maximized.
The company’s primary solution, FORGE, ensures effective and accurate integration of each source data system by generating replicated data models and hierarchies, while using their technology to find and store data relationships.FORGE supports a wide variety of systems, and is often used alongside the PI System offered by OSIsoft. One feature of FORGE is the Data models and source data can be imported, related automatically or through user-based drag-and-drop functions, and exported completely into PI AF. automatic configuration of Hierarchies in PI AF.

In some projects, they have reported an 80 percent reduction in effort to deliver a new, complete hierarchy in PI AF.
One of the company’s recent projects delivered enhanced access of real-time data through an array of data models for a large-scale Power Generation Utility. The integration combined various source systems, (including process control data, market pricing, work order history, process operating envelopes, equipment monitoring, and alarms), into a sophisticated early warning detection system. This effort had been considered previously by the client, but delayed due to costs and increased demand on resources. Optimate, and the use of FORGE, brought the deployment cost down and alleviated much of the resource demands, and was able to successfully deliver the system. The Utility has reported a significant value to the business, and is planning other data integration efforts with Optimate.
Optimate is still developing new innovations, and continuing to grow their business. They employ an experienced, cross-functional team serving a wide variety of functional domains. “Our company’s most valuable asset is our people, it is their experience that fosters our innovations, their work with clients that allows us to perpetually deliver value. We’re proud of the work we have done, and excited about what is to come. We are optimistic about the future of Optimate,” concludes Watkins.
